Anxiety Therapy Mumbai

Anxiety Therapy in Mumbai: Online & In-Person Counselling

Feeling overwhelmed, constantly on edge, or unable to quiet your mind? You don't have to manage this alone. At Kare Counselling, our psychologists provide compassionate, culturally-informed and evidence-based anxiety therapy to help you reclaim calm, clarity, and confidence.

What Is Anxiety, and How Is It Different From Stress?

We all experience stress and worry from time to time. Stress is often connected to something specific happening in our lives, while anxiety can linger even when there isn't an obvious reason to feel worried.

You might find yourself overthinking, expecting something to go wrong, or struggling to switch off. If these feelings are becoming difficult to manage or getting in the way of everyday life, therapy can offer a space to slow down, understand what you're experiencing, and find ways to feel more at ease.

How Anxiety Can Show Up

Anxiety can look different for everyone. Sometimes it feels like constant worry or overthinking, and sometimes you notice it more in your body.

You might find yourself:

  • Worrying about things that haven't happened yet
  • Finding it difficult to switch off or relax
  • Experiencing a racing heart or feeling short of breath
  • Having trouble falling or staying asleep
  • Avoiding situations that make you feel uncomfortable or anxious
  • Experiencing headaches, stomach discomfort, or muscle tension
  • Feeling a persistent sense that something might go wrong

You don't need to experience all of these to seek support. If anxiety is making everyday life feel harder, talking to a psychologist can be a helpful place to start.

Our Approach to Therapy

Effective therapy changes your relationship with your thoughts. You will learn to understand your triggers, regulate your nervous system, and prevent anxiety from making your life choices. At Kare Counselling, we take on an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from different modalities to create a space that is tailored to your individual needs and experiences.

Some therapeutic approaches we may draw on when working with anxiety include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): exploring the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): developing greater flexibility in how you respond to difficult thoughts and feelings.
  • Mindfulness-based approaches: building awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment.
  • Trauma-informed care: understanding how past experiences may shape the way you experience and respond to anxiety today.

Your therapist will work with you to find an approach that feels most aligned with your needs.

FAQs

How long are sessions, and how often will I need to come?

Sessions run 45 minutes. Your therapist will agree a frequency with you after your first assessment, based on what you're working through.

Do I have to come in person, or can I do this online?

Both. You can meet your therapist at our Nariman Point clinic, or work with them entirely through secure online counselling.

Will my sessions remain confidential?

Yes. Everything shared during introductory calls, intake sessions, and therapy sessions is kept confidential. Exceptions apply only in situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law.

What if my anxiety comes with low mood, panic attacks, or intrusive thoughts?

That's common, and our psychologists treat it that way. We offer integrated care for anxiety alongside depression, panic and performance anxiety, and OCD or health-anxiety-related rumination.
