Marriage & Family Therapy
At Kare Counselling, we recognize that healing within families and relationships doesn’t always begin in the same room, and that’s not only okay, it’s often necessary. In many South Asian households, emotional expression is layered, generational dynamics are complex, and individuals may not feel safe or ready to open up in front of others, even loved ones.
That’s why we’ve developed a collaborative yet confidential two-therapist model designed to meet people where they are, especially within the context of family or couples therapy.
Instead of requiring everyone to attend joint sessions, we assign each individual their own dedicated therapist. These therapists work closely together behind the scenes, with full respect for ethical boundaries and individual confidentiality, to create a more complete, nuanced understanding of the family or relational system. This allows for individualized support without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Whether it’s a couple who prefer to focus on their individual growth before (or instead of) joint sessions, siblings or twins navigating deep-rooted conflict but needing separate therapeutic spaces, or a child in individual therapy while their parents are in couples counselling, our approach is designed to adapt to each unique situation.
Our model is flexible, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. It’s especially designed to support South Asian families, where emotional privacy, generational expectations, and personal readiness play a crucial role in how therapy is received.
We don’t believe in forcing difficult conversations before people are ready. Instead, we offer a pathway where every voice is heard, even if it’s not in the same room.
